The Amnesty UK Annual General Meeting and Conference showed solidarity with Roopbaan in their support for justice for Xulhaz and the Right to Love in Bangladesh. Amnesty UK AGM was held on the 7th and 8th April of 2018 in Swansea, Wales, nearly two years after the killing of Xulhaz. Over 500 activists attended the event. Activists were encouraged to support the solidarity campaign for Xulhaz by the South Asian Country Coordinators and also by the LGBT network.
Message from Amnesty International UK:
“The Amnesty UK section will continue to campaign for Xulhaz. There is, as we know, a large South Asian diaspora in the UK and South Asia is the largest of our 13 regions, however, Xulhaz is the only South Asian case that we can campaign on. Therefore Xulhaz is important to us and I hope our support is of value to Roopbaan”.
